Bringing Integrity Back to HVAC
Spring in Colorado means one thing — summer’s not far behind. And before that first 80° day sneaks up on you, it’s a great time to make sure your air conditioner is ready to roll.
Here are a few simple ways you can prep your HVAC system for cooling season and help it run efficiently all summer long:
1. Change Your Filter
It’s quick, easy, and one of the most important things you can do. A clean filter improves airflow, helps your system run more efficiently, and keeps dust and allergens out of your home.
2. Clear Debris Around the Outdoor Unit
Take a walk around your outdoor condenser unit. Remove any sticks, leaves, or trash that may have built up over the winter. Give it at least 2 feet of clear space all the way around to help it breathe and stay cool.
3. Check Your Thermostat Settings
Switch your thermostat from “heat” to “cool” and make sure it’s working properly. Set it to your preferred temp and listen for the A/C to kick on. If it doesn’t, give us a call — we’re happy to help.
4. Inspect Your Vents and Registers
Make sure all your indoor vents are open and unblocked. Dust them off if they’ve collected anything over the winter, and rearrange furniture or rugs that might be covering them. Proper airflow is key to staying cool!
5. Listen for Unusual Noises
When you first turn on your A/C for the season, listen closely. Rattling, banging, or squealing can be early signs of a problem — better to catch it now before you're relying on it full-time.
6. Schedule a Professional Tune-Up
There are some things best left to the pros — and an annual maintenance check is one of them. Our techs will clean the coils, check refrigerant levels, inspect electrical components, and make sure your system is safe, efficient, and summer-ready.
Bonus Tip: If you had issues with airflow, uneven cooling, or high energy bills last summer, now is the time to talk about solutions. A quick fix like a zoning adjustment or a ductwork inspection could make a big difference.

You should have your HVAC system serviced twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. This will help to ensure that your system is running efficiently and effectively, and it will also help to identify and prevent any potential problems.
A programmable thermostat can help you to save money on your energy bills by allowing you to control the temperature of your home when you are not there. You can program your thermostat to turn down the heat in the winter and turn up the air conditioning in the summer when you are away or asleep.
The best way to choose the right size HVAC system for your home is to have a load calculation performed by a qualified HVAC contractor. This calculation will take into account the size of your home, the number of windows and doors, the insulation value of your walls and attic, and the climate in your area.
